How to Tell Them Apart
Annakolibri
Metallic bronze-green upperparts. Males have an iridescent rose-red crown and gorget. Females have green upperparts with grey underparts and a small red gorget patch.

About These Birds
Annakolibri
Der Annakolibri ist der häufigste Kolibri entlang der Pazifikküste und eine von nur drei Kolibriarten, die ganzjährig in den USA verweilen. Männchen zeigen spektakuläre Sturzflüge aus 40 Metern Höhe und fangen sich mit einem lauten, von den Schwanzfedern erzeugten Zwitschern ab. Der Rotkardinal ist der Wappenvogel von sieben US-Bundesstaaten – mehr als jede andere Art. Anders als bei vielen Singvögeln singen sowohl Männchen als auch Weibchen, häufig im Duett.
