Spotted Kingfisher

The Spotted Kingfisher (<em>Actenoides lindsayi</em>) is a member of the family Alcedinidae and occupies forest habitats within its range. Detailed plumage and behavioral descriptions of this species are limited in the available literature. It is currently assessed as Least Concern, indicating that its global population is not considered to be at immediate risk. As a forest kingfisher, it is presumed to favor areas with suitable woodland cover, where it likely hunts from concealed perches in a sit-and-wait foraging style characteristic of the genus.
