The Black-hooded Sierra-finch is a compact, ground-dwelling finch; males have a black hood, gray body, and rufous-brown upperwings, while females are more streaked brown. It inhabits high-altitude grasslands, rocky slopes, and puna scrub in the Andes from Peru south to northwestern Argentina, typically above 3,000 meters. It forages on the ground for seeds and insects.

Azure-shouldered Tanager

The Azure-shouldered Tanager is a tanager endemic to the Atlantic Forest of southeastern Brazil, weighing about 43g with a wingspan of 19.2cm. It has green plumage with striking azure-blue shoulder patches and forages in the forest canopy and edges. It feeds on fruit, nectar, and insects, often in mixed-species flocks.
