Bare-faced Ground Dove
Small dove, 17–19 cm, sandy-buff with a bold bare yellow-orange facial patch, dark wings, and pale underparts. Inhabits open Andean hillsides and high-altitude scrub from Peru to northern Chile and Argentina, often above 3,000 m. Granivore of seeds. One of the highest-altitude doves in the world. Least Concern.
Pohnpei Fruit-dove
Pohnpei Fruit-dove (Ptilinopus ponapensis), 22 cm. Green with a lilac head and an orange-yellow breast; endemic to Pohnpei, Micronesia. Occupies primary forest above 200 m on this volcanic island. Frugivore. Vulnerable; total range barely exceeds 100 km².
