A large, social Phasianidae pheasant (~2.14 kg) of high-altitude coniferous and mixed forests in Sichuan and Tibet. Predominantly white with black cap and crimson facial skin. Groups dig for roots and bulbs with strong feet. Largely sympatric with pandas; protected in reserves. Least Concern.
