The Arctic tern holds the record for the longest known migration of any animal, traveling roughly 70,000 km annually from Arctic to Antarctic and back. Roseate Tern
Roseate Tern, 33–36 cm, is a globally distributed but declining species, breeding on both sides of the Atlantic, Indian Ocean, and Pacific. Nearly white with a rosy flush to breast in spring, very long tail streamers, and mostly black bill. Plunge-dives for small fish. Endangered in parts of range.
