Allen's Hummingbird
A small hummingbird (8-9 cm) breeding along the Pacific coast from Oregon to southern California. Males have an orange-red throat and rufous flanks. Closely related to Rufous Hummingbird. Partial migrant; some populations resident on Channel Islands. Named after Thomas Allen.
Red-billed Streamertail
A spectacular hummingbird (9-10 cm body + 15-18 cm tail streamers in males) endemic to Jamaica. Males have two extremely long, black tail feathers trailing behind in flight, a red bill, and iridescent green body. Jamaica's national bird. Nectarivore of forest and gardens.
