Horned Coot (Fulica cornuta) is a 58–62 cm large Andean coot of the high-altitude salt lakes of Bolivia, Chile, and Argentina above 4,000 m. All-black with white bill and a distinctive large fleshy horn projecting from the frontal shield. Builds massive stone nest mounds in shallow lakes. Feeds on aquatic algae. Near Threatened.
