The Bar-winged Flycatcher-shrike is a small passerine of the family Vangidae found in forests and forest edges from the Himalayas through Southeast Asia to Sumatra. Archbold's Newtonia
Archbold's Newtonia is a small vangid from southwestern Madagascar, weighing about 8 grams with a wingspan of just 9 cm. It inhabits the spiny forest thicket of the arid southern region, foraging actively for insects in the low thorny vegetation.
