Shining Imperial-pigeon (Ducula chalconota), 38 cm. Richly iridescent bronze-green upperparts with a contrasting pale grey head and underparts. Found in montane forest of New Guinea from 700 to 2,200 m. Frugivore. Least Concern; common in hill and montane forest.

Common Bronzewing

Medium-large pigeon, 30–36 cm, brown with iridescent bronze, green, and purple wing patches and a pale forehead. Widespread across Australia in open woodland, mallee, and coastal heath. Granivore of seeds and succulent plant material. Visits waterholes regularly. One of Australia's most common native pigeons. Least Concern.
