Shining Imperial-pigeon (Ducula chalconota), 38 cm. Richly iridescent bronze-green upperparts with a contrasting pale grey head and underparts. Found in montane forest of New Guinea from 700 to 2,200 m. Frugivore. Least Concern; common in hill and montane forest.

Violaceous Quail-Dove

Small quail-dove, 23–26 cm, with a violet iridescent crown and nape, rufous back, white facial stripe, and pale buff-white underparts. Inhabits lowland humid forest from Nicaragua through Colombia to Bolivia, southeastern Brazil, and Argentina. Terrestrial frugivore of fallen fruits and seeds. Least Concern.
