A large hummingbird (12-13 cm) found in Andean cloud forests from Venezuela to Peru at 1,000-2,400 m. Brilliant sapphire-blue throat and breast (males), green body. Nectarivore of montane forest edges. One of the most strikingly colored sabrewings.
