Least Grebe (Tachybaptus dominicus) is the smallest New World grebe at 21–27 cm. Dark grey overall in breeding plumage with yellow eye, blackish cap, and short bill. Inhabits small freshwater ponds, ditches, and marshes from the southern USA through Central and South America to northern Argentina. Feeds on small fish and aquatic invertebrates.

Inhabits still and slow freshwater bodies across a huge range from Britain to Japan and south to South Africa. Dives frequently for small fish and invertebrates.
