About These Birds

European Robin

The European robin is one of the most beloved birds in Britain, where it is the unofficial national bird. Despite its friendly demeanor toward humans, robins are fiercely territorial against their own kind, singing year-round to defend territory. Their distinctive song is one of the first to be heard at dawn.

Bearded Scrub-robin

The Bearded Scrub-robin is a small, ground-dwelling bird of the forest understory and woodland edges in East and Central Africa, from Somalia to Zambia. It has brown upperparts, a white throat with fine black streaking giving a bearded appearance, and warm rufous flanks. It forages among leaf litter for insects, spiders, and small invertebrates.
