A medium-sized hummingbird (11-12 cm) endemic to the Lesser Antilles from Saba to St. Vincent. Males have iridescent purple throat and green body. Nectarivore of montane forest and gardens. Larger and more aggressive than Green-throated Carib, dominating flower territories.

Chilean Woodstar

A tiny hummingbird (7-8 cm) endemic to the hyper-arid Atacama coast of northern Chile. Males have a purple throat and forked tail. Nectarivore of desert scrub and cultivated gardens. Critically Endangered with fewer than 400 individuals remaining due to habitat destruction.
