Brown upperparts with fine blackish barring; crown dark. Throat whitish to pale buff; breast rufous-brown. Belly buff-white. Reddish legs. Small tinamou of Amazonian lowland forests; sexes similar.
Cinereous Tinamou
Uniform slate-gray upperparts; head, neck and breast also gray. Belly paler grayish-white. Lacks strong barring. Bill and legs dark gray. Sexes similar; cinereous refers to its ashy coloration.

Habita florestas de terra firme densas. Como todos os inambus, é extremamente difícil de observar, detectado principalmente pelo canto suave e melancólico ao amanhecer.
