Lowland humid forest in the western Amazon basin of Peru, Ecuador, and adjacent Colombia and Brazil. Prefers undisturbed terra firme and seasonally flooded forest interior below 400 m.

Inambu-de-Bartlett (Crypturellus bartletti) — Inambu do sub-bosque de florestas amazônicas do Peru e extremo norte do Brasil. Plumagem acastanhada com padrão distinto. Habita florestas de terra firme densas. Como todos os inambus, é extremamente difícil de observar, detectado principalmente pelo canto suave e melancólico ao amanhecer.
Slaty-breasted Tinamou
Inambu-de-Boucard (Crypturellus boucardi) — Inambu das florestas tropicais de baixada do México à Nicarágua. Plumagem acastanhada barrada. Habita florestas densas de baixada e bordas florestais. Canta ao amanhecer com voz suave. Extremamente difícil de observar apesar de ser razoavelmente comum em florestas adequadas da América Central.
