Cucal de Buru (Centropus chalybeus), 35–40 cm. Plumagem principalmente preta com reflexos azul-esverdeados brilhantes, asas castanho-rufivas. Olhos vermelhos, bico robusto. Endêmico das florestas densas da ilha de Buru, Indonésia. Solitário e discreto, move-se entre a vegetação baixa em busca de insetos e pequenos vertebrados.
Lesser Ground-cuckoo (Morococcyx erythropygus) — 28 cm. Brown above; chestnut rump; whitish underparts; bare blue orbital skin. Inhabits dry and semi-arid scrub from Mexico to Costa Rica. Non-parasitic; builds its own nest in low shrubs. Runs on the ground hunting large insects, lizards, and amphibians. Monotypic genus endemic to Mesoamerica.
