Found on tepui plateaus of Venezuela and adjacent Guyana and Brazil in open highland vegetation. 1,200–2,800 m.

Nectarivore visiting tepui shrub flowers and lowland grasses. Supplements nectar with small arthropods gleaned from vegetation.
