Cucal-violáceo (Centropus violaceus), 40–48 cm. Plumagem principalmente preta com reflexos azul-violáceos brilhantes, asas castanho-avermelhadas. Olhos vermelhos, bico curvado. Endêmico das Ilhas Manus e Mussau na Papua-Nova Guiné. Habita florestas tropicais. Alimenta-se de insetos e pequenos animais.
