Um inseparável robusto da família Psittaculidae, endêmico da Etiópia e da Eritréia. O Inseparável-da-Abissínia (Agapornis taranta) habita florestas de altitude e bordas de floresta nas terras altas da Etiópia e Eritréia, geralmente acima de 1500 m. Mede aproximadamente 16-17 cm, sendo o maior inseparável. Os machos têm fronte vermelha enquanto as fêmeas são inteiramente verdes. É a única espécie de inseparável que nidifica em cavidades de árvores. Alimenta-se de figos e sementes. Classificado como Pouco Preocupante pela UICN.
