소형 벌새로 체장 약 11cm이며, 수컷은 광택 있는 초록 몸통에 에메랄드색 목과 포크 모양 꽁지를 갖는다. 에콰도르와 콜롬비아 남부 고지대 관목지에 서식한다. 꽃의 꿀을 빨아 먹는다. 관심 필요 종이다.
