소형 벌새로 체장 약 10cm이며, 수컷은 초록 몸통에 자주색 목과 갈색 꽁지를 갖는다. 페루 북부 고지대에 서식하는 희귀 고유종이다. 꽃의 꿀을 빨아 먹는다. 근접위협 종이다.
