몽골갈매기는 중앙아시아 내륙 호수에서 번식하는 대형 갈매기이다. 재갈매기와 유사하지만 더 북동쪽에 분포하며 아시아에서 번식 후 동아시아 해안으로 이동한다. 내륙 호수와 해안 모두에서 서식한다.
