Mongolian Gull
Mongolian Gull, 55–65 cm, breeds at high-altitude lakes in Mongolia and winters on coasts of China, Korea, and Japan. Pale grey mantle, pink orbital ring, yellow bill. Recently recognised as a full species, split from the Herring Gull complex. Omnivore; forages at inland lakes and coastal estuaries.
Aleutian Tern
Aleutian Tern, 32–34 cm, breeds colonially in Alaska and Russian Far East, wintering in Southeast Asian waters — one of the most poorly tracked migrations among seabirds. Dark grey above, white below, black cap with white forehead. Piscivore; dives for small fish. Near Threatened.
