Mascarene Coot

Mascarene Coot (Fulica newtonii) is an extinct giant coot formerly inhabiting Mauritius and Réunion in the Indian Ocean. Larger than Eurasian Coot; likely flightless or near-flightless. Extirpated by hunting and introduced predators in the 17th–18th centuries. Known from subfossil remains and written accounts by early European visitors.

맨눈물닭(Gymnocrex plumbeiventris)은 말루쿠 제도와 뉴기니 지역의 27–31cm 물닭이다. 갈색 윗면에 회색 아랫면, 맨살 붉은 눈 테두리를 지닌다. 울창한 저지대 열대우림에 서식한다.
