Mascarene Coot
Mascarene Coot (Fulica newtonii) is an extinct giant coot formerly inhabiting Mauritius and Réunion in the Indian Ocean. Larger than Eurasian Coot; likely flightless or near-flightless. Extirpated by hunting and introduced predators in the 17th–18th centuries. Known from subfossil remains and written accounts by early European visitors.

ハダカメクラクイナ（Gymnocrex plumbeiventris）はモルッカ諸島・ニューギニア地域に生息するクイナ（体長27〜31 cm）。腹面は灰色、背面は褐色、目の周囲に特徴的な裸出した赤橙色の顔面皮膚。低地雨林・二次林・水辺の林縁に生息。隠遁性が強く、落葉を歩いて無脊椎動物・小型脊椎動物を採食。
