작은 뻐꾸기새(Centropus bengalensis) — 33-38 cm. 황갈색 날개 패널이 있는 줄무늬 갈색 위면, 창백한 황갈색 아랫면, 단계적 꼬리. 인도에서 동남아시아와 중국까지 널리 분포하며 초지, 관목지, 삼림 가장자리에 산다. 비기생성이다. 곤충 및 소형 척추동물 포식자다. 관련 종보다 작고 풀 서식지를 더 선호한다.
