소형 머리매로 체장 약 28–32cm이며, 갈색 몸통에 회색 머리와 붉은 얼굴 피부를 갖는다. 미크로네시아 팔라우와 마리아나 군도의 숲에 서식하는 고유종이다. 화산 및 태양열로 알을 부화시킨다. 위기 상태이다.
