중간 크기의 비둘기로 체장 38–43cm이며, 수컷은 분홍빛이 도는 갈색 몸통에 목 부위에 무지개빛 녹색과 보라색 광택이 있다. 히말라야 산맥에서 중국 남부, 동남아시아의 산지 숲에 서식한다. 과실류와 씨앗을 먹으며, 관목층에서 단독 또는 쌍을 이루어 생활한다. 관심 필요 종이다.
