롤 자고새는 인도네시아 수마트라와 나이아스 섬에만 서식하는 자고새입니다. 남색 눈 주위 피부와 줄무늬 갈색 깃털이 특징이며, 수마트라의 열대 우림 아래층에서 서식합니다.

Brown above; breast uniform tan-buff without chestnut or grey; throat whitish; flanks olive-brown streaked pale; bare reddish eye-ring; uniform tan breast is diagnostic against grey-breasted congeners.
Habitat & Range

Endemic to northern Sumatra in Aceh and North Sumatra provinces. Found in lowland and foothill forest below 1,000 m.
Diet & Feeding
Forages on floor of northern Sumatran montane forests for seeds, invertebrates, and small fruits. Little-studied species.

Clear, ringing 'wii-OO' whistle heard from Sumatra's foothills; second note drawn out. Poorly known; alarm a short sharp 'kek'. Covey contact maintained by soft, quiet clucks.
