멕시코에서 중앙아메리카를 거쳐 베네수엘라 서부까지 넓게 분포하는 중형 벌새(10~11cm). 메탈릭 초록 윗면과 적갈색 꼬리가 특징이다. 꽃의 꿀과 작은 곤충을 먹는다.
