メキシコから南米北西部にかけて広く分布するハチドリ（体長9〜11cm）。金属光沢のある緑色の体と赤褐色の尾羽が特徴。Amazilia tzacatl（ルーフォウステイルドアマゾンハチドリ）は標高0〜2,500mの熱帯・亜熱帯林縁、庭園、農地に生息し、様々な花の蜜を吸う。中央アメリカで最もよく見られるハチドリの一つ。Trochilidae科。
