メガネウミスズメ、36〜38 cm。カムチャツカから日本にかけての西北太平洋の岩礁海岸・断崖で繁殖。煤黒色で目の周りに白い眼鏡状の斑；赤い足。海岸部に通年生息；魚食性。
Common Murre
北大西洋・北太平洋の断崖で繁殖する海鳥（体長38〜46cm）。黒い上面と白い下面が特徴で、精工な巣を作らず岩の棚に直接卵を産む。Uria aalge（ウミガラス）は海中を翼で「飛ぶ」ように泳ぐ潜水能力に優れ、魚を主食とする。卵は洋梨形で転がりにくく、狭い岩棚から落ちにくいように進化している。Alcidae科。
