Arabian Babbler
アラビアチメドリはアラビア半島と周辺の乾燥地帯に生息する社会性の強い小鳥で、体重約73g、翼開長約22cm。家族群で協力して縄張りを守り、子育てを共同で行うことから、協同繁殖研究の古典的な研究対象となっている。砂褐色の鱗状羽毛は、生息する岩礫砂漠と灌木地によく溶け込む。

ウツクシシロガシラ（Heterophasia pulchella）はヒマラヤ・ミャンマー・中国西南部の山地林（標高1,800〜3,000 m）に生息するシロガシラ科の鳥（体長21〜24 cm）。灰色・白・赤みがかった羽衣のコントラストが美しい。混群に加わり果実・昆虫を採食。
