About These Birds
Great Indian Bustard
かつてインド亜大陸全域に広く分布していた非常に大型のノガン(体長最大120cm、体重8〜18kg)。砂褐色の羽毛と黒い頭冠を持つ。残存個体数150羽未満の深刻な絶滅危惧種。かつては乾燥した草地に普通に見られたが、生息地喪失と電線への衝突によってほぼ絶滅寸前。

モロッコからエジプトの北アフリカ半乾燥草地とステップに生息する中型ノガン(55〜65 cm)。精巧な黒い模様を持つ砂バフ色の羽衣。雑食性。脆弱種に分類。
