ヨーロッパ・アジア・アフリカ・オーストラリアに広く分布するトビ(体長48〜60cm)。褐色の体と浅い切れ目のある尾が特徴。Milvus migrans(トビ)は日本で最もよく見られる大型猛禽類で、「ピーヒョロロ」と鳴く声は日常的に聞かれる。漁港や食事場所の上空を旋回し、食物を空中でさらうことで有名。Accipitridae科。
