Junin Grebe (Podiceps taczanowskii) is a medium 30–36 cm flightless grebe endemic to Lake Junin in the Peruvian Andes at 4,080 m. Grey and white; reduced wings; heavy bill. Critically Endangered; fewer than 250 individuals remain. Threatened by water pollution from mining operations, fluctuating lake levels, and gill-net entanglement.
