Malay Plover

Malay Plover: 14–17 cm, pale sandy coastal plover of Southeast Asia with a black mask, black partial breast-band, and white underparts. Resident on sandy beaches and coastal saltpans of Malay Peninsula, Sumatra, Java, Borneo, and the Philippines. Insectivorous. NT. Threatened by coastal development, beach tourism, and predation.

Spot-breasted Lapwing

Spot-breasted Lapwing: 28–30 cm, Ethiopian highland endemic lapwing with a black head and breast spotted white, and red legs. Restricted to high-altitude moorland and montane grassland above 1,800 m in Ethiopia. Insectivorous. Sedentary; rare and little-studied. Declining due to overgrazing and agricultural encroachment.
