The Black-lored Cisticola is a small, skulking warbler with streaked brown and buff plumage and small black patches on the lores. It inhabits tall grass, bracken fern, and forest-edge vegetation in the montane areas of the Albertine Rift in east-central Africa. It feeds on small insects and seeds, creeping through dense grass stems in the manner typical of cisticolas.

The Black-chested Prinia is a small, warbler-like bird of sub-Saharan southern Africa, with a distinctive black breast band in breeding plumage, grey upperparts, and whitish underparts.
