The Algerian Nuthatch is an endangered nuthatch weighing about 17 g with a wingspan near 17 cm, discovered in 1975 and endemic to a few small forest patches in northeastern Algeria. It clings to tree trunks and branches in typical nuthatch fashion, probing bark for insects and seeds.
