La paloma terrestre de frente blanca es una gran paloma terrestre de 30-34 cm de Nueva Guinea, de color marrón oscuro con una frente blanca y extensas zonas verde-bronceadas en las alas. Habita en bosques primarios de tierras bajas de Nueva Guinea y algunas islas adyacentes. Terrestre, camina por el suelo del bosque buscando semillas y frutos caídos. Su vuelo es corto y producido solo cuando es perturbada. Especie discreta y difícil de observar.

Medium dove, 27–30 cm, with warm rufous-brown upperparts, a black neck collar, and a deep orange-red breast. Endemic to the highland plateaus and montane grasslands of northern Nigeria and Cameroon. Granivore of grass seeds and cultivated grains. Poorly studied and localised range. Least Concern.
