La paloma-halcón de las Sangihe es una paloma endémica de las Islas Sangihe en Indonesia. Es la menos conocida de las palomas-halcón del género Gymnophaps. Tiene plumaje oscuro similar al de otras especies del grupo. Habita en los bosques remanentes de las islas volcánicas de Sangihe. Está amenazada por la severa deforestación y la fragmentación del hábitat en estas pequeñas islas.
Thick-billed Ground-pigeon
Stout, medium-large ground pigeon, 28–32 cm, with olive-brown upperparts, a thick pale bill, white facial markings, and rufous-barred underparts. Restricted to dense lowland and foothill rainforest of New Guinea. Terrestrial forager of seeds, fallen fruits, and invertebrates on the forest floor. Least Concern.
