La paloma-halcón de las Sangihe es una paloma endémica de las Islas Sangihe en Indonesia. Es la menos conocida de las palomas-halcón del género Gymnophaps. Tiene plumaje oscuro similar al de otras especies del grupo. Habita en los bosques remanentes de las islas volcánicas de Sangihe. Está amenazada por la severa deforestación y la fragmentación del hábitat en estas pequeñas islas.

Slender cuckoo-dove, 36–40 cm, with rufous-brown plumage, fine black barring on the back, and a long graduated tail. Endemic to the Philippine archipelago in lowland and montane forest. Frugivore of small fruits, berries, and seeds. Common and widespread throughout the Philippines. Least Concern.
