About These Birds
Glittering-throated Emerald
Colibrí de vientre escamado (Chionomesa fimbriata), 9–10 cm. Plumaje verde brillante; vientre blanco con escamas verdosas; pico recto y moderado. Habita en bordes de selva y jardines del norte de América del Sur (Venezuela, Colombia, Guyana, norte de Brasil). Se alimenta de néctar e insectos.
Rufous-booted Racket-tail
A small hummingbird (8-10 cm plus tail rackets) found in Andean cloud forests of southeastern Peru and Bolivia at 1,200-2,200 m. Males have rufous leg puffs instead of white. Recently split from Booted Racket-tail. Nectarivore of montane forest undergrowth.
