Chorlitejo de Forbes (Charadrius forbesi), 15–17 cm. Collar pectoral negro prominente; frente blanca; superciliar blanca; dorso pardo. Habita en sabanas inundadas y orillas de ríos del África occidental y central. Se alimenta de insectos e invertebrados acuáticos. Especie poco conocida.

Common resident from Colombia south to Patagonia in open grassland, farmland, and urban parks. Insectivorous. Highly vocal and territorial. Expanding its range northward.
