Loro negro (Chalcopsitta atra), 28–32 cm. Plumaje enteramente negro con reflejos verdosos y azulados; pico negro; piel facial desnuda azul grisácea. Habita en bosques húmedos de la costa oeste de Nueva Guinea. Se alimenta principalmente de néctar, flores y frutas. Emite llamadas ásperas y estridentes.
