Colibrí estrellado de abejorro (Chaetocercus bombus), 6 cm. Uno de los colibríes más pequeños; garganta del macho rosa-violácea brillante; partes superiores verde oscuro; cola muy corta. Endémico de Ecuador y sur de Colombia. Habita en bosques montanos y bordes. Se alimenta de néctar y pequeños artrópodos.

Allen's Hummingbird

A small hummingbird (8-9 cm) breeding along the Pacific coast from Oregon to southern California. Males have an orange-red throat and rufous flanks. Closely related to Rufous Hummingbird. Partial migrant; some populations resident on Channel Islands. Named after Thomas Allen.
