Cucal faisán (Centropus phasianinus), 55–65 cm. Plumaje estriado pardo-negruzco en partes superiores, vientre blanquecino con estrías oscuras. Cola larga y escalonada. Habita en pastizales altos, matorrales y bordes de bosque en Australia y Nueva Guinea. Se alimenta de insectos, lagartos y huevos de otras aves.
