Cucal de cola negra (Centropus grillii), 28–34 cm. Plumaje negro con brillo verde-violáceo, alas castaño rojizo, cola negra relativamente corta. Habita en pastizales altos y matorrales de África subsahariana. Se alimenta principalmente de insectos grandes. Nidifica oculto entre la vegetación densa.
